Canes LEAD is a one-day leadership conference on September 20th , for UM students hosted by the Butler Center and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Learn strategies for success, lessons on leadership, practical skills and an appreciation of diversity in a global society. Through these sessions, current and emerging UM leaders will cultivate leadership skills that can benefit them in all aspects of life. This invigorating summit will provide an invaluable platform from which community leaders, professors and professionals will disseminate ideas and expertise that will enable UM students to develop new skills and grow as a leader. UNLearn: A Discussion on Ferguson
On September 22, 2014, United Black Students will host a UNLearn Forum in the SAC Senate Room. This forum will be centered on the recent tragedy that has taken place in Ferguson, Missouri and the events that have resulted because of it. This forum will serve as a platform for students to express their thoughts and opinions on what happened, the community response, how it impacts them, and a variety of other subtopics as it relates to the discussion at large.
